The Frisky Faun started out like many on this planet. Nothing magical, or fanciful to start. Just a being, lost in the story that is life.
Born in the late 1900’s, at end of an era and the beginning of the unknown, The Frisky Faun was not so frisky, nor faunlike. She grew up in an average home, to an average American family. Attending Christian church semi-regularly and celebrating all the Christian holidays that go along with that. It wasn’t far into life that she felt a tug towards nature and animal kind. Shedding the label of “Christian” she marched onwards on her path towards the unknown claiming to know no deity, no religion, and have no answers. She saw herself as a blank slate and trudged through the first quarter century simply not knowing, or claiming to know, practically anything. Not long into her second quarter century, she met a wonderful man, settled down as you are told to do, and had offspring.
She kept to her calling of animal kind, working exclusively with animals as she continued forward in life. However, she never thought to explore her spirituality, being content with the unknown staying as such. That is until she approached her 40th name day. As she grew in age and maturity, something else called to her from within. A part of her she had always hidden from the world. A longing for something more than she had known all these years. She explored her sexuality, and in doing so met an amazing woman who led her on the path of spiritual awakening.
Some might think this meant there was no room in her life for her husband, but that was far from the case. In a joint agreement, they stepped out of the comfort of monogamy, and into the unfamiliar territory of polyamory. Sharing her love between two individuals was so incredibly fulfilling to her. Two different mindsets, opinions, points of perspective etc. It opened an entirely new world. Mutual respect and open communication were at the heart of the relationship, as it should be.
Her new love shared their innermost thoughts and beliefs, tickling the spirituality that she had long since abandoned. She then decided to open herself up to more than just the physical world she knew. Allowing herself to embark in a spiritual journey that would change the very fabric of her being.
